I will rise

This morning in church, this song was sung as the offeratory. And I was really struck by the words of this song as something I want to be able to sing with a pure heart and soul. It brought tears to my eyes as I think about all the things I have been thinking through lately. It is easy to look past the essential part of what I believe and get tangled up in the confusion. There is an anchor for my soul and he has overcome death. My heart just longs to rest in him above all else…my heart longs to just lay at his feet and let the sorrows and confusion of my day wash away.

I Will Rise Chris Tomlin
There’s a peace I’ve come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There’s an anchor for my soul
I can say, it is well
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
And I will rise
When he calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle’s wings
Before my God, fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
There’s a day that’s drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise
When he calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle’s wings
Before my God, fall on my knees

And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice
of many angels sing
Worthy is the lamb
And I hear the cry
of every longing heart
Worthy is the lamb

I will rise
when he calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle’s wings
Before my God, fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
I will rise
